I was born
in Roanoke Rapid, North Carolina, and raised in Littleton, North
Carolina. After graduating
from high school, I moved to New York where I attended Mercy College in
Westchester, New York. I
received a Bachelors degree in Business/Accounting in 1977, and then
went on to attend several other colleges where I continued my studies in
accounting. In 1999 I
received my Masters in Divinity from Freedom Bible College and Seminary
in Rogers, Arkansas. (While in New York I married my high school
sweetheart in 1967—Carlton Burgess--- who is also a Pastor).

I moved
from New York in 1979 to Langhorne, PA, and landed a job with Princeton
University as an accountant. In 1986 we moved to New Jersey and in 1989
I went to Real Estate School, and became a realtor, and sold real estate
for more than 10 years. Through the real estate I became interested in
the mortgage industry, and became self-employed as a mortgage
underwriter contractor traveling to various mortgage companies in the
country working for 11 years.
After 11 years in the mortgage industry, I started my own business as a mortgage auditing company (B & B Services Associates) with 10 employees in 1998. I ran the business until God called me into the ministry, which was in 2001, and then I still kept the business opened until 2005. God wanted me to use my gifts, talent and experiences to help His people. I am the
founder of South Jersey Outreach Ministries in 1991, and became
recognized by the IRS in 2002 as a 501©3 non-profit organization.
Since then we have several partnerships: Arnold Distribution
Warehouse, New Jersey Agricultural Society, Catholic Charity, Farmers
Against Hunger, Family and Human Services, HUD, USDA Rural Development,
FHA, several Attorneys at Law helping youth in the Judicial system,
several apartment complexes, and other churches in the community helping
them feed their members as well as helping them develop an effective
outreach program.
I have
conducted seminars and conferences over the years the latest one “Double
Up” Conference teaching on “Hearing God’s Voice” and Understanding
Prophecy”. We have fed
more than 1000 families, and have put more than 50 families in homes
and/or apartments. Our
ministry is that of the New Testament, we believe that we are our
brother and sister keepers. We do not get any assistance from the
government; this is all done through our memberships.
Out of the outreach ministry was birthed the church, Fountain of
Living Waters Church, which my husband and I are the Pastors.
We believe that people must walk in their calling in order to
understand the will of the Father for their lives.
Right now we are small, but we have true worshippers who are
filled with the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the fivefold ministry, and they are taught how to
use their gift(s). We have an awesome Youth ministry called “Ablaze
Youth Ministry”…they are on fire for God. We have
worked in the Ft. Dix Federal Prison for 5 years teaching and preaching
the word of God. We
assist the elderly with social security benefits…showing them how to get
the help they need. We
assist the returning veterans from Iraq who are ill, and are in need of
benefits…teaching them how to apply for benefits. Because of
the love for God, we devote our time giving back to others in need.
We are teaching them how to break the chain of bondage in their
lives through knowledge and love.
